DKNY Chronograph rannekello

Kaulakorut vasemmalta oikealle 1. Oscar de la Renta 2. Scosha 3. Irit Design 4. Erickson Beamon 5. Oscar de la Renta. Kuvat lainattu täältä

Hieman huokeampia vaihtoehtoja tarjoilee muuan muassa Asos ja Boohoo. Kaulakorut vasemmalta oikealla 1. Oasis 2. BooHoo.com 3. Blakegodbold 4. Blakegodbold 5. Boohoo. Kuvat lainattu täältä ja täältä.

Näissä merkeissä mukavaa pikkujoulukautta!

Ei panta kiristä päätä...

I love hair bands (Alice bands), but I get horrible headache from wearing a normal ridgid (metallic, plastic, padded or not - doesn't matter) head band. Somehow the part of my skull behind my ears is really sensitive to tension and can kick start a mother of headaches in a mere couple of hours of wearing a head band. I'm superpleased of the current trend of soft fabric headbands. I picked up couple of really cute ones few days ago - aren't they cute?

Pidän hiuspannoista tosi paljon, mutta saan kamalan pääsäryn tavallisista 'kovista' (muoviset, metalliset, pehmustetut ja pehmustamattomat) hiuspannoista. Jostain syystä panta todellakin kiristää päätä ja vain parin tunnin hiuspannan pito saa aikaan järkyttävän jyskytyksen ohimossa. Olen siis suunnattoman onnellinen jo jonkin aikaa vallitsevasta pehmeiden kangaisten kuminauhahiuspantojen trendistä. Viime ostosretkejä tarttui muutama söpöläinen mukaan.

Beaded accessories

Coming season's trends are something to for the bead enthusiasts to get excited about. Spring 2010 RTW (ready to wear) runway show featured beads not only in their traditional form as jewelry but also as wearable accessories. Here are some of the coolest snaps from the show for all to admire.

Balmain's seed beaded and patterned sandals on left and right and bead and pearl embellished sandal by Vionnet. I'd quite like Balmain's colouful flat sandals for my spring / summer wardrobe.

All images in these photo creations have been borrowed from www.style.com

Trussardi's seed beaded accessories are remarkable creations of handicraft. I wonder if this trend is going to catch on retail fashion. If so, all of you talented beadeders get your bead purse projects underway now and cash in name and fame when spring comes!

More of jewelry trends from Spring 2010 RTW coming up later on.

Project Runway showdown

Last night aired the final runway showdown of the Season 6's Project Runway. Althea's, Carol Hannah's and Irina's fashion forward visions were showcased in Bryant Park for the world to see. I enjoyed all of the collections and could easily pick something from each collection to wear. Announcing Irina as the winner of Season 6 was no surprise to me. Her work during the show has been consistent, meticulous and well preceived by the judges as was her collection at Bryant Park. Although I can totally see why she was chosen as the winner of the competition I lost my heart for Carol Hannah's collection. Sure it lacked some cohesion typical for these types of shows, but her garments were to die for. My absolute favourite was her starter piece, which also vowed the judges.

Project Runway - Runway - Fall 09 MBFW

Such a beautifully made piece with fantasic colours. I especially loved the way that black bordering brings out the other colours and the cut of this dress. There were so many pieces in her collection which I could see wearing.

Project Runway - Runway - Fall 09 MBFW

I think these are very flattering designs which work well in normal life not just on a runway show or red carpet. I guess that's why I love them so much. Lot of the clothes on runway shows looks great but I personally find them unwearable in real life. Carol Hannah also offers great gowns for formal evening do's - I mean that is what she does well! Check these out!

Irina's collections had all the cohesion Carol Hannah's was missing. It was edgy and stylish and it even showcased headwear which reminded me of helmets that horse riders wear. Unfortunately, all the magnificent tailoring got lost in the black. It was little depressing almost. But she has some winner pieces I loved. Her jackets were amazing.

Althea's collection was very true to her style seen earlier on the season. Great tailoring of suits and super comfy looking knitwear. As with Irina's collection I felt that Althea's collection lacked some colour. My favourite pieces were her cropped pants suit and oversized cardigan. Lush!

I look forward to catching up with the Project Runway's Finnish version which is aired on Thursdays. Having been abroad for quite few weeks I missed a great deal of the earlier shows, but am hoping that the real talent is really shown at the end. Exciting viewing ahead.

Star Quality

I have been looking for the star perfect earrings for a quite a long time. I don't exactly know what it is about the star shapes that appeals to me, but for a long time I've been facinated by stars and considered them to be my lucky charms.

Earrings with star quality

What really goes with these beautiful earrings is a matching necklace or a ring.

To go with...

Awww....I love them all. Be Mine.

Lilypad style

About year ago I was introduced to TV-sitcom which has been frequently referred to as the new Friends. I was instantly hooked to 'How I Met Your Mother' and it didn't take much longer for me to fall in love with the show's costume styling. My absolute favourite wardrobe is worn by Lily Aldrin played by he fiery red head Alison Hannigan, also known from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer 'and 'the American Pie' movies. Here is a quick overview of what I think is the best of Lily's.

One of my favourite Lilypad style moments was during third season when Lily confessed her shopaholic tendencies to Robin. For the life of it I cannot find pictures from this episode anywhere. Only one I could get my hands on is portraying Lily in the mids of blissful shoe heaven. And last but not least...awww! In the latest HIMYM episode Lily wore this amazing silk(?) blouse, which you can only see a tiny bit of in the last picture. I'm hopeful more promo photos of the latest episode will turn up soon. Normally I would be relying on SeenON! for the latest showbiz fashion advise, but my search turn up nil hits :-(

Does anyone know who does the styling / costumes for the show?

Bootylicous

Hate to admit it, but the summer is officially over now. Time to say goodbye for strappy sandals and welcome new season of boots. And what a great season it looks like. I am well pleased with the continuing trend of high boots with less on the heel. All I really need is a pair of warm and comfortable boots to walk me through the falling leaves, rain and snow.

Ideally, I will get a pair of tan coloured boots to match my lovely new hangbag and black pair, well just because every girl needs a one pair of black boots ;-) In reality, real leather boots don't come cheaply so I will be grateful to get even one pair. True to my style I have done my homework before heading out to the shops. Here are my favourite contenders so far;

The black pair from Ellos are this seasons hottest over-the-knee boots. I think they're to die for, I'm just not quite sure my anatomy can pull them off.

Double take

This Saturday I witnessed two couples tying the knot. Since it was an autumn wedding and I opted for a dark look. With shoes and accessories I am hopefully succeeded to bring some softness into otherwise simple and classic look. I found this amazing double necklace with a detachable lace bow. It is so cute that I am desperately trying to find some lace to make my own too. Does anyone know where I could score some lace in a form of tube? I suppose it is quite similar to wire lace ribbon with the exception it is made of lace of course!

Necklace was a find from Dorothy Perkins.
This bracelet on the other hand I made myself some time ago. Beautifylly faceted and round black onyx with a simple slide-in clasp.

Easy to achieve finger curls were kept in order with this black bow band I found from my reccent shopping trip to Dublin.

And I danced the night away in one of my favourite shoes by Report. Oh, do I miss New York shoe stores.

Cascade

Many of the US and UK fashion labels carry an inspiring selection of relative inexpensive (except the Anna Beck Riua earrings) jewellery on their collection. Although I usually prefer to hand craft my own pieces to suit my taste, I cannot but be tempted with these seasonal fashion goodies to be mine. Here are best of the large cascading earrings. Since I cannot choose between my traditional favourite silver and my new found love for (black &) gold - I will give you both!

Silver Edition

From left to right; Duchess earrings by Forever 21, Oval floral scale earrings also from Forever 21, Embossed Disc earrings by Diva for Miss Selfridge, Tear drop shaped Anna Beck Riau earrings from Max & Chloe.

(Black &) Gold Edition

From left to right; Black & gold lead shower earrings , Embossed gold leaf earrings, Black & gold shell earrings. First three pairs all from Forever 21. Metallic golden tear drops from Accessorize.

Has anyone attempted to many their own cascading earring pair?

Best of Bangles

I adore chunky bracelets. They are a snazzy little way to liven up an outfit, easy to slip on (how many can honestly say that bracelets with clasps willl slip on around your wrist in a matter of seconds?) and will not damage your new cardigan by ripping it to threads. Between gold and silver I've always been leaning towards the platinum look, but I find this autumn's black & gold combinations surprisinly appealing. I have added a little bit of both colours on my best of bangles selection and concentrated more on the texture. Here are some of the beauties I would like to take home. And given my artistic capabilities even try to make myself.

From top left hand corner;

Chunky pebble textured bangle in gold from Forever21
Brass bangle with black diamond detail from Nelly.com
Gold filingree and black leather cuff from Forever21
Bangled Cuff in silver from Forever21
Tripe coiled silver bracelet from Saks 5th Ave
Coiled silver cuff from Oasis
Gold & black metallic squares bangle from Forever21
Beaded and sequined Maurizio Pecoraro bangle (from Polyvore)
Gold & black sequined bangle from Forever21

I went a little crazy over Forever21's jewellery section. They were just so adorable! Stay tuned for more of my favourite pics from Forever21's jewellery collection later on in the week.

Take a bow

There has been lot of bows in women's fashion lately. Oversized bows in dresses and blouses, cute little bows in alice (hair) bands and bow details in hangbags. I have been after the perfect belt with a bow. Since few days shopping left me only with blisters and an utter frustration I turned to the internet. I am pleased to present the shortlist of the contenders.
1. Red Barbie style belt from Chictini
2. Wide wasted French Connection belt with leather bow detail
3. Purple patent belt from ASOS
4. Metallic leather belt by Chloe
5. Soft leather wrap belt in earthy brown from Witchery
6. Light pink skinny belt from Witchery
7. White leather belt by LK Bennett
8. Black patent leather belt by Red Herring (sold by Debenhams UK)
9. Red (also available in black) hipster belt by Ted Baker

I am beginning to lean over to the black French Connection belt or the light pink skinny belt from Witchery. Which one is your favorite?
